On another note, the beta release of sxore with the SXIP 2.0 protocol is now out, so commenters can now have a light-weight identity managed via a sxip homesite account. Blog authors with WordPress blogs (hint, hint ;) can install it on their blogs.

It was great to meet you at OSCMS. You're slides about SSO Guy, Personal Profile Gal were great, and the Long Tail made the complicated stuff a lot simpler.

A few clarifications:
- LID has many more capabilities, such as user-controlled information sharing (including for VCard, FOAF and other data), authenticated messaging, public key distribution etc. Browser-based SSO (like OpenID does, for example) is only one of them.
- YADIS is a general-purpose capability discovery framework that works with any identifier that can be resolved to a URL. For example, it works with i-names as well. (and in fact, that's where YADIS got its XRDS XML format from)
- YADIS can discover OpenID SSO, LID SSO, and many other things -- which may or may not have anything to do with OpenID or LID or i-names.
